But if we are talking about secondary villains, i go with Wamuu, He literally respected everyone who had a chance of over powering him, he respected joseph right before he died, but most evil main villain is Kars, he killed his own tribe. And most evil side villain is Yoshihiro Kira, WHAT THE FUCK, YOU WANT TO PROTECT YOUR SON THAT IS A SERIAL KILLER, IF I HAD A SON THAT WAS A SERIAL KILLER I WOULD JUST LET HIM GO TO JAIL
Dio was born evil, he had the devils mark. His crimes are also war worse than Kira's. And how tf is Kira's father the most evil side villain, Angelo, Cioccolata and J. Geil are far worse.
KoichiSa wrote: I don't if I'm the only one to think like this, but... I think Diavolo and Doppio are not two different personalities of the same person. Rather they are two different souls residing in the same body. It might sound weird but as we can see, after Doppio's(also Diavolo's) and Bucciarati's souls were switched, Doppio remained in Bucciarati's dying body and eventually died. On the other hand, Diavolo left the body of Bucciarati.I think that's only possible if they're separate souls. Although it's possible that what everyone else say(they're actually split personalities) is true. So I respect what you guys think.
If that's the case, why couldn't Doppio leave Bucciarati's body as well? Diavolo being the only one who managed that only speaks further for Diavolo not being a "full" soul, rather like a parasite/devil, latching itself onto another person.
That's what I mean, it's even more strange that the son called Diavolo was looking and acting like Doppio, it's possibly that Diavolo is Doppio's real name and Doppio is Diavolo's good side while Diavolo is Diavolo's evil side, or something like that. But even then, why would Doppio have a full name if that was the case, and why would a Priest name their adopted son after the devil. It's bizarre.
Possible. It's still weird for a Priest to name their "kind, cowardly and open hearted" adoptive son after the devil. Doppio also has a full name which is another hint for who the original personality likely was.
RevineYT0 wrote: I think that Diavolo was the original personality and then he developed Doppio so that he can continue his crime and act like a non-suspicious person while doing so, and the reason why I think this is why is because Doppio is very kind so if Doppio developed Diavolo, then 1. Why would Doppio be taking actions for his younger personality (because who knows if Diavolo can wipe his memory) and 2. Then he wouldn't be the kind person that he was, he would just be a mean person. Also, I think that Diavolo was the original personality because according to the wiki's Doppio article, it says that Doppio is the younger personality, so if Doppio is younger then Diavolo, then either when Diavolo takes control, Doppio doesn't age, or Diavolo is the original personality. I rest my case.
Doppio shows signs of DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and Schizophrenia, such as Memory Loss/Amnesia, Headaches, Hallucinations (Mostly phones) and Unawareness that he and Diavolo share the same body. The Theory behind DID is that the mind as a defense/coping mechanism switches to a different personality resulting in a blackout for the main personality. So a person with DID tends to switch personalities when they're extremely angry or pressured into uncomfortable situations. This is seen several times with Doppio, as every time he was pressured/harassed, he switched to Diavolo/Diavolo took over, with Doppio having no idea what happend during that time and having a headache afterwards. And while Doppio is a polite dude, he can be quick to anger and act bipolar once stressed.
The boy seen in the flashback had also fashioned his hair into a braid like Doppio and Doppio fits the "honest but dim" description better. In the extended flashback in the anime, the baby also had Doppio's eye color and the boy had freckles, like Doppio. Doppio's voice actor also voiced the boy in the flashback, When Silver Chariot Requiem swapped everyone's souls, Diavolo wasn't transferred to a separate body, but instead his soul latched onto Mista's body which had already another soul in it while Doppio was transferred to Buccellati's body where he was able to live on alone until he was killed by Mista. When Polnareff explained DID, he used Billy Milligan as example who had a split personality which was muscled like a boxer (When Diavolo took over Doppio for the first time on screen, Doppio's body became buff). When Araki drew all the Main Villains in one picture, it was Doppio there, not Diavolo. The episode in which Doppio appears for the first time together with the backstory is called "A Little Story From The Past my Name Is Doppio" while Diavolo's first full appearance is in the episode called "His name is Diavolo". Doppio also has a full name, with the only Antagonists in Part 5 who have one as well being Mario Zucchero and Risotto, while Diavolo doesn't have one. It was also confirmed in a Q&A that all added or extended flashbacks in the anime are canon, therefore making it highly likely for Doppio to have been the original personality until Diavolo became the dominant one.
A split personality is basically created from trauma, to protect the original one. Doppio is fragile, Diavolo is strong. Doppio is unaware that Diavolo is in him, while Diavolo is aware that he's in Doppio and uses him, the split personality is always aware while the one who has the split personality is unaware.

It was said that the mom was pregnant for 2 years, so for all we know, there were always 2 souls in one body and Diavolo took over later and burned the village down(We were being told that the boy in the flashback was cowardly and clumsy, but polite which sounds like Doppio to me. The Boy in the flashback also had Doppio's voice).
And Ghiaccios name means ice yet he is the most hot headed dude on earth. It doesn't rly mean shit.
Same goes to Diavolo. Amnesia is also a thing. And Diavolo can seemingly fuck with Doppio's memories as he didn't remember what happend to the fortune teller.
Being more in control doesn't mean anything except that the original personality's brain created a self mechanism and this personality then took over. Also, wait, what? That was never said, was it. Trish looks more like Doppio than Diavolo anyways.
Because they're 2 souls in one body and Diavolo just happens to be the one with a stand.
Again, amnesia. Doppio has shown signs of memory loss, he literally forgot what he was supposed to do just after Diavolo told him that and had a headache.
Damn I’m pretty late to this. Firstly, Ghiaccios name means “ice” in English right? What’s ghiaccios ability? FUCKING ICE. Doppio s name directly translating to double can’t be a coincidence. Where did he get this name from? The reason I doppio is forgetting things isn’t because of Amnesia. It’s because he doesn’t remember anything when Diavolo takes control I guess? Those things only seem to happen when Diavolo is in control too. So, Diavolo could have been the one in the romance with Donatella because he’s the only one who remembers Trish. Trish to me looks more like Donatella than a Doppio..she does look sort of similar to both doppio and Diavolo and she also has the green eyes. Doppio doesn’t remember what happened to the fortune teller because he simply wasn’t in control.
Doppio's first name isn't even Doppio, it's Vinegar, no? Vinegar is a sharp-tasting liquid while Doppio is a Double Shot of Espresso, which could also hint at him having double personalities. Diavolo learning that he has a daughter after 15 years+the boy in the flashback being like Doppio+Diavolo's ruthlessness makes me believe while indeed Diavolo is the father, Doppio is the one who was in love with Donatella. Doppio also forgot what to do just after Diavolo told him about Risotto and had a headache even though he was already in control. Even when Diavolo wasn't taking over, Doppio, despite him being polite to strangers, was mentally clearly not well.
He's problematic, but has great Character Development Potential.

That's still not as bad what Cioccolata did or what Angelo did. We don't know how many Angelo killed, but raping and killing kids is imo worse, and Cioccolata killed a big chunk of Rome.
I mean, Kira killed women for his fetish and used KQ, so the women didn't suffer that long. Meanwhile Angelo was already convincted for Rape and Robbery at the age of 12, raped and killed people in general, raped and killed two kids and wanted to use the last kid for ransom cuz he heard that he's rich. Even when he was caught, he managed to kill one policeman and they found out that the kid was already dead, with his penis cut off and stuck on a pillar. Angelo was always worse than Kira imo.
Diavolo is the one who created the idea of selling drugs to kids in the first place, he's the goddamn Boss. He could have killed innocent lives all the time, there was simply no need to kill the washing lady. And unless all the people in the village he burned down were evil, I also refuse to believe that he only kills if he absolutely must as there was no need to kill all those innocent people.
If he wasn't human, then the sun would've ended his life long ago.
Doppio died while in Bruno's body. Since both have their own soul, Diavolo is likely still stuck in the Death Loop while Doppio went into whatever exists after death in JoJo.

Doppio is the insane one, we can't come to a result here cuz we don't know who was there first, but Diavolo tortured and hid their mom, killed the priest and burned down the whole village as soon as he appeared. He's a Psychopath, he is why he is not because of Circumstances or the environment, but because he was born that way. He is aware of what he does, its not like he doesn't realize it like other Criminals who end up in Mental Hospitals. So when someone's aware as they commit Mass Murder, Drug Dealing and other shit, it doesn't matter whether he got the GER Treatment or not, he would've been in Hell regardless.
Being paranoid after doing horrendous crimes should be self-evident. And we don't know whether he is the Split Personality or Doppio, in fact, the Anime implies that it's him, so he has no excuses here.
Boysmith2003 wrote: Anyway, back on the original topic, all of you need to stop condeming Diovalo. We don't condemn the insane because it isn't their fault they do this shit.
Then whose fault is it? Diavolo was well aware of his actions, he's been a Mafia Boss for over a Decade and is responsible for Mass Murder, Selling Drugs to kids and other shit. By your logic, Kira is also not at fault for killing 48 women.
I don't get how ppl think that Diavolo is the one with the Mental Disorders to begin with which would explain his actions. It usually would only count if he wasn't aware of what he does, but he is aware. He's literally the Antichrist, evil since birth. He's just paranoid, but he's mostly calm while Doppio is the one who hallucinates stuff or has shown to easily forget things as he has a headache. Like @DeathCrisisGod said, if Heaven and Hell exist, then he would get in Hell so it's no difference from what he got.

Think about what he has to experience. Some of his deaths would be extremely gruesome. Imagine having your liver taken out while you were still conscious, and how horrifying that would be.
There are exceptions. Diavolo isn't also even nearly the worst we've seen in JoJo.
Probably.
And lets not take Mental Disorders or Doppio into this. Diavolo hasn't shown any sign of one which would explain his actions. He genuinely tried to kill his daughter. Doppio has shown signs of Mental Disorders, but he's not the one who started this shit.
There are overall worse people irl where I would say that they would 100% deserve that fate.
