As far as my knowledge of WOY goes (not much as I haven't read part 8) it can only activate if your pursue the user or it (something like that) so If I just sit there, even stare at the thing, I will be fine.

@SoggySeptimus Or basically just a normal stand battle. Hanged man exists in the mirror world before the said world was a thing. And illusso can't escape either, if he leaves the mirror world, Hanged man could still cut Illuso in a milisecond.
