The only reason why Diego beat Johnny was also because they were racing and Johnny was injured by traps

So Jotaro needs prep time as well to win

The Traps quite literally didnt work

It didnt even injure Johnny all that much

All it did was knock him off his horse, and he was set on fire which uh..did almost nothing. Johnny seemed absolutely fine after that.
