tbf, Kalyoin did put a massive amount of distance between him and DIO. The plan was to basically force DIO into using his ability while Kakyoin observes from a distance. A large distance(ofc the point of the distance is so Kakyoin avoids death so obv it isnt a last-ditch resort)
It's literally not Kakyoin's fault TS is an ability that goes beyond expectation itself.
Even after Kakyoin figured out TS, he still outright refused to believe it
And he's right, at that point in time, nobody would expect some ability to affect the rules of time itself(especially considering that most Stand abilities were pretty basic at the time, there is no possibility that someone would even think of a time ability at that point in time)
Overrated
And so the arguments has returned

The issue is the physical difference between Dio/TW and Kakyoin/HG, if it wasn't for the plot convenience Dio could quite literally just brute his way through the emeralds like plastic (the guy literally flicks it away with his fingers) and just beat the sh*t out of Kakyoin without much of an effort, you're right on the factors, he had no sense of ideas on what to do due to his lack of actual training, or expectations, he overestimated his position and Dio's mentality (if he straight up thought Dio was gonna just ricochet his attack or something and just go "oh, nice attack buddy *flies towards Joseph*" and let him go unscathed, then that was not happening)."
"(especially considering that most Stand abilities were pretty basic at the time, there is no possibility that someone would even think of a time ability at that point in time)"
Wrong. Space erasing sphere's, open-world body controlling mist (or however the hell Justice's ability works), reality altering stand that can damage others via dreams, the f*cking Sun, etc.
Yes, Kakyoin hasn't witnessed all of these by first-hand but logically you're giving Kakyoin too much empathy and credit, his issue was his lack of experience, training and time, he lowered his survival rate by beating by the clock, same as the one he destroys in his final message.
"Only SBR stands that would trash Kakyoin was TA4/BB, LT, and TW,"
...You're bit mistaken, I don't even think he makes it past Cream Starter in a real combat scenario without strats.
In a Silent Way, Mandom, Civil War, SM, Tomb of the Boom, CD, CS, CTR (in rain), TB, Etcetera.
"Dio could quite literally just brute his way through the emeralds like plastic"
He'd get turned into swis cheese
"Space erasing sphere's,"
Kakyoin isnt aware of this ability(and this isnt even anywhere near the expectations of effecting the rules of time tbh)
"open-world body controlling mist (or however the hell Justice's ability works),"
its just fog creating illusion
"reality altering stand that can damage others via dreams, the f*cking Sun, etc."
He doesn't alter reality. It's dreams. Yk, the thing that isn't part of reality. The sun? Yea I still woudnt say that closes the gap of expectations with the rules of time.
Non of these stand abilities really close the gap of expectations between them and effecting the rules of time
"Silent Way, Mandom, Civil War, SM, Tomb of the Boom, CD, CS, CTR (in rain), TB, Etcetera."
If it was a ranged fight with good enviornment, I'd still give it to Kakyoin(he was able to tag DIO via strategy which is something non of these guys would he capable of doing)
But I agree with SM. His travel speed is a bit bs
While I do agree with the idea that DIO honestly could have just busted out TW and knock the emeralds away like mere pongs, within the world of JoJo, you cannot react to attacks you cannot see. DIO might know where some of the emeralds are coming from but if he manages to let even 1 hit, it was checkmate. Especially considering DIO needs blood to regenerate at this point in time(he still not fully accustomed to Jonathan's body) so ofc the only way he could possibly 100% ensure victory was to TS at that moment.
"He'd get turned into swis cheese"
Damn, so that's what happened to Dio's cape (I just assumed he snagged it off mid-fight against Jotaro, mb)
"Kakyoin isnt aware of this ability(and this isnt even anywhere near the expectstions of effecging the rules of time tbh)"
Yeah, I already agreed he didn't have much experience with some of those, but it's definitely some pretty metaphysica shit, like Kakyoin saw a mirror reflecting at the speed of light and still denied the idea of a mirror world being a thing (that's on him, even Iggy would acknowledge the possibilities, let alone even a glimpse of it in action)
"its just fog creating illusion"
Yeah, but that was defiinitely not something tame seeing the world look like an entirely different projection of the environment, with a bunch of ghost, and puppetry-zombie sh*t going on.
"He doesn't alter reality. It's dreams. Yk, the thing that isn't part of reality. The sun? Yea I still woudnt sy that closes the gap of expectations with the rules of time."
What happens to you in the dreams happens to you in real life (come on man, this is a common factor on why D13 is so overhyped nowadays, it"s the Freddy Krueger shenanigans).
What do you think?
