Welcome back to my stand analysis series where i break down the connections of Stands and their musical references
Im am reviving this and specifically doing this on creamstater because SOME people don't seem to understand why and how Firestarter and Creamstarter are connected so consider this episode 6 in my series
Ok so why are the 2 connected well it doesn't take a detective to see Firestarter => Cream Starter but there's also more depth to it. Its not uncommon for the backstories to music to influence the Stands and their abilities and the user and as the resident music Nerd/Historian im going to do my best to break it down, the best example i can think of is Josuke and Crazy Diamond. Now the story behind the song Shine on You Crazy Diamond is quite tragic the song is about the former frontman of Pink Floyd Syd Barret who lost a battle to drugs he completely changed, became paranoid and started to do live shows less and less to the point where the band kicked him out as they tried to help him but he was at the point of no return. This is seen with Crazy Diamond the stand in which even though Josuke can restore things to its original state he cannot restore things that are fully lost.
Now why does this matter? Well its been a wide long debate on Creamstarter's Namesake although there are other musical references that are much more vague such as Aqua necklace which is widely agreed to have been named after Aqua by Asia due to Araki referencing this type of music before so its not a stretch to say that Firestarter is the Namesake to Cream Starter but it doesn't stop there if we look at The Prodigy's Discography and then look at when Hot Pants and her stand were introduced we can see that the prodigy had released 2 albums before Hot Pants's introduction, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned released on August of 2004 and Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005 a compilation album released in October of 2005 2 months before Cream Starter's first appearance this is notable due to the first song on the album being Firestarter.
We can also look at the lyrics of the song as well to connect Hot pants's character to the song with lyrics like "I'm the trouble starter, punkin' instigator", "I'm the fear addicted, a danger illustrated", "I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter" we can see these as Hot Pants constantly telling herself to keep moving towards her goal and to fight for it as a Firestarter can also be interpreted as someone who causes conflicts.
"I'm the bitch you hated, filth infatuated, yeah", "I'm the pain you tasted, fell intoxicated" "I'm the self inflicted, mind detonator, yeah" "I'm the one infected, twisted animator" can all be seen taken as Hot Pants's regret of her past actions choosing Herself over her brother ultimately causing his death and her survival, as "I'm the pain you tasted, fell intoxicated" represents her constantly thinking about it as it intoxicates her to the point where she joins in the race for the chance to gather the corpse parts in order to be forgiven
The song Firestarter is also seen as Keith Flint being quite egotistal and self praising meanwhile Hot Pants is the complete opposite She's strong yes but also traumatized her weakness cracks open from time to time and Creamstarter is quite literally a stand where she needs the flesh of others to heal herself or people closer to her just like how she saved her own skin in her flashback
I'd also like to mention that before Keith flint was the prodigy's frontman he was previously just one of their Dancers though he would eventually become their frontman with the song Firestarter like how Hot Pants goes from Nun to a racer but also how she conceals her identity as a woman by disguising as a man but eventually being revealed to be a woman
One more thing is i know people will say "Oh but this isn't a song Araki would reference" or something along the lines of that, and to i say that you don't seem to understand Araki he enjoys the music of the west he doesn't limit himself to specific genres and instead embraces all kinds of music we can see this with Limp Bizkit a pretty unconventional reference as well as in Part 7 there were many different genres being referenced including more modern ones even if they were just for a page or 2 he does not have boundaries when it comes to his love of western music and Steel Ball Run Pushes boundaries
