I've always been a fan of official work being canon to the multiverse of the original by default.

JJ isn't canon but because its official work based on an alternate reality of the main work(because that's literally what it is), it SHOULD be canon to the multiverse. At least if I were author, this is the mindset I would go for but because there is no confirmation from the author themselves, it's always just assumed that spin-offs such as JJ, DQ or even PHFB are considered their own entire multiverse/timelines that's completely disconnected from the canon. This might be a safer bet for the story due to the sake of things just "making sense"(such as EOH using corps parts despite there only being 1 set of crops across the multiverse and story of EOH not being canon to the prime universe itself) but eh, they can find ways to dance around it.
