I would like to start out by saying
Omg this part is massssssive cheeks. The only thing that snagged my attention was Jodio's backstory but that's the closest thing that I could notice about part 9 that made me go "Wow, now this is worth my time!". I could not give any less of a f**k about the rest of this plot. Diamond that makes you rich? Idc. Stand abilities? Very creative but also very anti-cinema(if you will). Rohan is cool ig but he's got less screen time than GER atm(Unless im wrong idk i stopped reading after Chapter 20). Jesus Christ, this makes me adore the living sh** out of JJL. This makes JJL look like it has SDC level of cinema and SBR level of writing. Thats how f**king terrible this part is so far.
I could care less if this ends up being Araki's best written piece, maybe and might end up being better written than JJL or SBR(Doubt but we'll see). I don't understand why people get this mind set that writing takes over all other priorities when it comes to fiction. Lemme ask you something. What is the f**king point in writing a well written story with poor a** execution? What is the point of a well written story if there is no excitement or tension or action happening on screen? What tf is the point if there's no form of enjoyment? An example of this would probably be Jodio vs The Charming man. While yea the fight itself has very complex and interesting ways with the way the characters use their abilities, it's ONLY really interesting the first time you watch. You could watch it again and again and again and again and again and everytime you watch it, you'll never feel that same interest you had the first time you watched it because you come to the realization that the reveal behind the potential of the ability was the only thing that sparked up the interest in the first place. After that knowledge has entered your head and you rewatch a scene with that knowledge, the interest is no longer there as the scene itself lacks any form of cinema.
A fight such as Jotaro vs Kakyoin or Josuke vs Rohan or Jolyne vs Whitesnake or Bruno vs King Crimson or Polnareff and iggy vs Vanilia ice, these are fights that allows the viewer to feel excitement, enjoyment, joy, tension, etc. The best part is that you can consistently rewatch these fights and ALWAYS continue to re-experience that level of excitement you had the first go around because the level of cinema presented within these events goes beyond the charts.
It's reasons like this why I could not enjoy the majority of JJL but at least JJL has SOME chapters that captured a good amount of excitement. Holy sh**, part 9 just takes it to the next level of str8 up bordom. I'd rather watch something that is GOD AWFULE in writing but allows me to enjoy the hell out of it. Enjoying something is much more worth my time than something that forces me to skim 80% of the context being given to me.
It's not just the fights that I find uninteresting, I just don't care for the plot in general. Its creative but..I just idc for it.
Yes ik enjoyment is subjective, some people might actually enjoy what part 9 has to offer and are capable of rewatching the same scenes with the same level of interest each go around. Good for those people that they don't gotta suffer through the idea that their favorite series has completely fallen off. Good thing there's different parts rather than all 1 singular story tho, makes the acceptance more bearable.
Anyways im back and this will change absolutely nothing for the wiki. thanks for allowing me to waste your time just as part 9 did for me
