Just as moths create “wing dust”, so does We All Fall Down using Poppin’ Apathy. This wing dust is actually a precipitate form of fentanyl, which can be absorbed through contact with the skin. Touching or inhaling the dust causes the target to experience a wave of numbness in body and mind, leaving them in a dreamlike state. Lethargy overtakes, their body paralyzed by ecstasy while their mind loses the will to fight.
Ashes to Ashes is We All Fall Down’s secondary ability. If a moth lands on a surface, it will meld with other moths to form a chitinous needle, burrowing into the target. More moths create longer needles, but it takes a long time for large amounts to meld together. As such, most needles will not target vital areas, but instead burrow into muscles or tendons. Moving those muscles or tendons will not only cause immense pain and possible damage, but they can also break off inside of said areas, causing extensive damage. When paired with Poppin’ Apathy, the fentanyl precipitates can directly enter the bloodstream, while the needles themselves also serve to discourage dosed targets from trying to move.
