A narrative analysis of why part 7 does something part 4 did but better
Part 4 doesn’t have a consistent goal. It is very clearly divided into two parts. There is the stand arrow stuff and then the Kira hunt
Part 7 is divided like this: win the race, get the corpse parts, kill president.
You’d think both are just natural progressions of the plot, but part 4 feels much more stiff. At least for me, it felt like part 4 was a more sudden plot shift, and didn’t have as much of a natural flow.
Part 7 goals flow into one another extremely naturally and everything just feels like what the characters would aim for.
I apologize if this sounds like a crazy person’s disjointed thoughts, but it’s just why I felt part 7’s narrative flowed so smoothly compared to part 4
