AWAKEN (AWAKEN -目醒め- Aweikun-Mezame) is the 21st episode of Stone Ocean and the 173rd episode of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime. The episode covers the events of Chapters 679 through 684 of the original manga.
Summary[]
When Pucci attempts to steal their memories, F.F. sacrifices Atroe's body to kill D an G, destroying Yo-Yo Ma in the process. They attempt to recover with a faucet to inform Jolyne of Pucci's identity, but Whitesnake forces the water to boil, disintegrating them. Meanwhile, Jolyne and Anasui attempt to retrieve The Green Baby, but find themselves shrinking whenever they get close to it as a result of the infant's Stand, Green, Green Grass of Home. Anasui traps the Stand in a bottle but becomes trapped underneath the bottle's weight as it threatens to crush him. The baby and its Stand stop attacking the two when it notices the star-shaped birthmark on Jolyne's shoulder, but Anasui senses it has dark intentions and plans to kill it.[1]

- Moved the scene of The Green Baby's proper birth to earlier, right after D an G's death.
- Removed the scene of Anasui chasing the baby and having an imprint from it left on his hand.
- Altered the scene so Jolyne sees the baby after the boat arrives on shore, rather than when they were still out in the water.
- Removed the scene in which Anasui hears dogs and worries about the guards.
- Added a scene where Anasui kicks a bottle to The Green Baby and realizes that things that it touches does not shrink.
- Added a short scene of the baby moving while trapped in the bottle.
- Changed a part of the fight where the baby now kicks the bottle toward Jolyne and co., rather than Green, Green Grass of Home rolling it to them to grow.
