"Heaven's falling down" is the second opening theme of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean and the eleventh overall opening theme of the series' TV adaptation. Performed by sana (sajou no hana), with lyrics by Shoko Fujibayashi, and composition by Yugo Kanno. The opening animation was produced by Kamikaze Douga.
Opening Animation[]
The opening begins with the camera zooming into Jolyne turning around in front of a starry sky, who transitions the opening to a reanimated visual of Jotaro and Star Platinum defeating The World. Star Platinum punches through the rubble and transitions into its DISC created by Whitesnake which is caught and carried away by Savage Garden. Then the camera moves down, showing the accident that lead to Jolyne's prison sentence.
The pendant that was given to Jolyne by Jotaro falls into the former's hand while a shot of Jotaro visiting Jolyne in the visiting room and Jotaro being affected by Whitesnake's "Melt Your Heart" ability appear in the background. The locket is open to reveal the image of Jotaro and his wife, in which Jolyne tearfully looks at, the scene changes to a shot of Jotaro in his coma, which is followed by Jolyne turning around to stare at the night sky.
The center of the screen flashes with the effect of a CRT TV turning on, opening up to reveal a transparent Ermes with Kiss's stickers overlaid on her. The background is black and white with Sports Maxx torturing a man by a car. Kiss appears behind Ermes as the background wipes to Gloria Costello's corpse in the sea. Kiss starts punching while Ermes screams, leaving the screen for a transparent Anasui with wheels on his body to emerge after.
Anasui poses while the black and white background shows his ex-girlfriend in bed having an affair. The background shifts to wheels and various items that Anasui took apart when he was younger, while a transparent Diver Down appears behind him. Anasui then runs off the screen and a transparent Emporio appears with a baseball and baseball glove pattern on his body. He throws a baseball up while the background shows his mother's skeleton. A transparent Weather Report springs up with clouds on his body and the background also covered in clouds. The scene distorts and squeezes downward with another flash, resembling a TV turning off, which changes the scene to the four characters staring at the night sky with Jolyne.
Pucci and Whitesnake appear with the camera zooming out to reveal DIO's sons, Rikiel, Versus, and Ungalo, whose faces are hidden. The scene transitions to the clock in Green Dolphin Street Prison's courtyard as the camera zooms outward and rotates upside down to show Jolyne jumping towards the sky.
Jolyne appears falling from the sky and the group begins showing off their Stands, starting with Jolyne, Ermes, Anasui, Weather, and Emporio using his ghost gun. The camera then zooms in to reveal Pucci looking above with DIO's shadow behind him. Foo Fighters then appears in the wetlands ascending to Heaven due to their death. [1]
Jolyne then arrives at Cape Canaveral where she confronts Pucci and Whitesnake. She reveals Stone Free and begins running toward Pucci ready to fight, punching the camera to reveal the logo embedded in stone, which is then splashed by water, giving it color.
Second Version[]
In SO Episode 38, the opening is significantly changed.
During the shots where Weather Report's silhouette is visible, the background is now revealed, showing the death of Perla. [2]
Later with the scene of Pucci and Whitesnake with the camera zooming out, Rikiel, Versus, and Ungalo's faces are no longer hidden and the scene transitions to the shot of the Prison courtyards clock which zooms out until Star Platinum: The World's time stop is activated, which then reveals Jotaro and Star Platinum who are suddenly surprised after time suddenly resumes as Pucci appears before them.
The scene changes to reveal a quick montage of manga shots featuring the previous JoJo protagonists in order of when they debuted (Jonathan, Joseph, Jotaro, Josuke, and Giorno) which leads up to a shot of Jolyne with color filling her body, appearing in the tunnel from the first opening leading to the stylized version of the Joestar Mansion where Jolyne spins and transitions the scene to Pucci and Made in Heaven as the mansion begins to crumble apart in the background.
The scene changes to reveal all of the protagonists leading up to Stone Ocean with past artifacts wrapped up in threads (in the order of Jonathan, the Stone Mask, Joseph, the Red Stone of Aja, Jotaro, Josuke, Giorno, the Stand Arrow, DIO's Bone, and Jolyne). Jolyne then emerges as the scene shifts back to the mansion crumbling apart where the camera pans up to reveal Jolyne and Stone Free facing off with Pucci and Made in Heaven with fiery auras surrounding them, referencing the tarot card visual from STAND PROUD. Stone Free throws a punch at Made in Heaven and the camera begins panning upward and zooming out, similar to the end sequence of JoJo ~Sono Chi no Sadame~. Soon after, everything disappears in a flash of light, which reveals the logo in a cosmic background in a similar style as JoJo Sono Chi no Kioku ~end of THE WORLD~. Jolyne's pendant then appears falling and the camera moves down revealing the location of where Stone Ocean's final scene takes place.
