When All Curses Are Broken, originally named "Kaato Higashikata's "Attack", is the one hundred and seventh chapter of JoJolion and the nine hundred and fifty-fourth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.
Summary[]
After having successfully attacked Toru, Josuke Higashikata wanders around the hospital, observing Holly Joestar in bed and the bodies of Rai Mamezuku and Kei Nijimura on the floor. Josuke leaves the hospital, presumably heading towards the Higashikata House.
At the Higashikata House, Yasuho Hirose initially tries to warn Kaato Higashikata about Wonder of U, when Kaato expresses how she had prepared Jobin's favorite meal, inca no mezame potatoes. As Yasuho continues to warn her, Kaato's granddaughters Daiya and Hato ask when she arrived. She insists that they stay away, as she wants to be with Jobin. Toru stands up, grabbing a nearby tool from a fallen toolbox, and points it at Kaato. Yasuho tells her to retreat to the coastal cliffs. Toru explains that a nearby rock will only remember the dreams of the scenic landscape, and that things like winning and losing mean nothing to the rock, but Kaato's eldest son Jobin lies dead without accomplishing his goals, so all she has is dreams and memories. Kaato throws some of her playing cards at Toru, revealing her stand's name, "Space Trucking." She uses her cards to pin Toru to the floor, as the stand form of Wonder of U appears on the rooftop. Amid Yasuho's continued warnings, Kaato taunts Toru by asking if he wants to touch her to trigger the exchange. She expresses that she doesn't intend to attack Toru, and just wants to explain what her stand is holding. She reveals that Jobin told her about the grafted branch and its abilities. Yasuho comments how Kaato has no will to attack. Toru asks about her goal, why she revealed herself. She says she's already decided her goal, and just needs to gauge which way things will go. Toru and Yasuho exclaim, noticing Kaato is about to pill something out of her cards. Kaato cries as she remembers an earlier interaction with her son, Jobin.
Earlier, as Jobin struggles with his cuffs, his mom comes to help. She can sense something is bothering him. She tells him not to be hesitant and to tell her his secret. Jobin closes the door and peeks out the window and explains an enemy will come to the house. He describes how one of his miyama stag beetles healed its broken mandible, while a Hercules beetle that was with it died, having its face equivalently exchanged for the mandible. He opens a cabinet to reveal the cactus with the grafted Locacaca branch, saying it's what Josuke, Mamezuku, and everyone else are after. He tells her he got it during the orchard fire and hid it. He believes the stag beetle sucked up the Locacaca sap that was coming up from the lower shelf. He asks if it's safe to keep the plant in their house, but worries they'd be found if he took it outside. Kaato asks if there should be a fruit on the branch, and Jobin explains it hasn't grown yet, but once it does grow they'll have their hands on the fruit, and the seeds. Kaato asks about the fire, and Jobin says that everyone else thinks the branch was lost in the fire, and nobody else can know it wasn't. He elaborates that it looked to the others like Poor Tom took the branch, but he's since died. He laments that there are other enemies out there who will come for the branch. After his mom asks if he was working alone, Jobin reveals his son, Tsurugi, was in on it as well, and that it's been hard for him, and that the curse will likely affect him soon. Unsure of what to do, Jobin expresses that he wants to tell his father Norisuke about the plant. Kaato slaps him, telling him to do it on his own, and that Norisuke still hasn't forgiven her, and he'd likely let it get into enemy hands. Kaato states the fruit will secure the future of their family, and tells her son that their family's good fortune is more important than any ethics. She says she's proud of him, and says they must break the family curse. She throws some of her Space Trucking cards at the plant, saying they should suffice if Jobin needs to hide the plant, but to continue to grow it in his room for now.
Back in the present, Toru asks Kaato what's between her cards, as Wonder of U appears behind her. She explains that the cards are carrying her family's curse, and that Toru will undertake it now. She sends out her grandson, Tsurugi, heavily afflicted by the Higashikata family illness, who's hand touches Toru and begins exchanging with him. Yasuho exclaims, realizing Kaato's goal was for Tsurugi to undergo an equivalent exchange.
