Chapter 8 Nero Nero Island (ネーロネーロ島 Nēronēro shima) is the eight chapter of the light novel JORGE JOESTAR. It returns to the perspective of the 37th universes' protagonist, Joji Joestar and continues the events of Chapter 6.
Summary[]
Joji recaps the events that had happened so far. Like the detective murders, Morioh's island, and a mysterious figure hiding in the Cube House. Fukashigi tries to see what is happening from a distance, Joji warns him that there could possibly be more Stand Users on the island. As the island approaches, Muryotaisu emerges from the Arrow Cross House, carrying a telescope and a pair of binoculars. Joji then warns Muryotaisu not to enter the Arrow Cross House for a while, Cube House was hidden inside of it, and because he had spotted an unknown figure. He installs hidden video cameras, and notices that the island approaching them is from foreign place. With the binoculars, they spot ships with Italian names, and a road sign saying, "Welcome to Nero Nero Island!". Muryotaisu walks back into the House, and walks back out with an encyclopedia, stating that Nero Nero Island is about a tenth of the size of Morioh. It is a Mafia base, known for being the headquarters of the gang, Passione. Fukashigi claims that there might possibly be Stand users on that island, then claiming that the boss' name is Diavolo.
The three spot a truck down the harbor, with people inside waving for help. Joji tries to spot the truck, when it suddenly explodes and is now covered in flames. The people on the truck are then shot by mysterious figures on the other side. Muryotaisu flies down with his Stand, and tries to help them. Although the barrier of Morioh is preventing him. Fukashigi asks NYPD Blue to do something to stop them, it claims that it is gathering evidence to arrest all of the shooters. Fukashigi yells at it to shoot them instead, it then claims that one of the shooters is Dolcio Cioccolata. It prints out copies of documents from Interpol, Joji discovers that Dolcio is involved in terrorist activity, and had sold drugs in the past. With his partner Secco Rotario, they had been killing innocent civilians. NYPD Blue states that he is broadcasting the footage to InterpolW, the FBIW, Italian PoliceW, and the CIAW. As they continue to shoot them, Muryotaisu tries to break through the barrier. Joji and Fukashigi watch until it ends. Joji spots the members of Passione throw the bodies into the water and into tall grass to hide them. He then wonders if Nero Nero Island had received the same threat America had sent to Morioh. The three then brace themselves as Nero Nero Island is about to hit Morioh. As they collide, Nero-Nero Island suddenly flips over because of both islands' barriers.
NYPD Blue shoots its Colt Python to break the boys out of their trance
Suddenly, insect-like legs emerge from under Nero-Nero Island and it lands in the harbor. The boys freeze in shock as it happens. Suddenly, Grand Bleu rushes out and shoves Muryotaisu, trying to wake him up. NYPD Blue suddenly fires its Colt Python into the air, waking everyone up. They all plan to retreat on Grand Bleu, as Joji is about to ride on Johana, he remembers Reimi and runs back to the Arrow Cross House for her. Rohan suddenly appears behind him, flying with Blue Thunder on his head. He states that he will make sure Reimi is safe and that Jorge should run. Joji hesitates and runs back anyway. In there, Reimi states that Cube House is the probably the safest place for her, because nothing from the outside can damage it. Joji decides that everyone should stay in Cube House, though Reimi isn't sure if it is still present. since it had evolved into Arrow Cross House. Joji proves that Cube House exists simultaneously as Arrow Cross House by discovering a door underneath a rug in Rohan's room. He states that someone might be hiding in there. Rohan hands him a golf club as a weapon and an escape tool. They also bring a camera to see inside and where to locate everything. Reimi warns Joji about Cube House because it can only occupy one person. Any more can lead to contradictions, and one of the occupants might potentially be sent into a parallel universe with no way out.
Joji runs through the suburbs of Morioh
Rohan wonders about what happens if they go inside, concerning him. Reimi promises him that she can decide where the floors, ceilings, and walls are to keep them safe, since she is the user of the Cube House. The three descend into the Cube House, Joji looks through its rooms, only to see that they are empty. As he is about to open the last door, Reimi screams at the camera screen. Joji checks the camera, and is shocked to see that the deceased Tsukumojuku Kato on there. He grins and walks up to the camera, saying that his life belongs entirely to both Jorge Joestars and then disappears. The three then leave the Cube House, Joji walks outside and then runs down the hill, thinking about what had just happened. He then ponders about how he can keep Morioh's civilians safe. He runs through the suburbs, when suddenly someone from Nero Nero Island starts shooting at him from above. He manages to take cover in some rubble from a destroyed house. On the other side of the rubble, he finds Koji, who was hiding in a garage. He uses Blue Thunder on Jorge, and they both fly across the area. They meet up with the Nijimura brothers in a random factory, where Koji states that some Passione members had infiltrated Morioh and had taken some civilians hostage in the school gym. NYPD Blue claims that Cioccolata had gathered them all like a tornado, vacuuming them up. Koji explains that Passione is using the Mayor to relay their orders, and are now dragging Stand users out. NYPD Blue suggests that they are either trying to kill their boss, or have may have already killed him and are now cleaning up.
The H.G. Wells is headed for Mars' secret moon
Suddenly, the city's loudspeaker announces a message, asking for detectives Runbaba 12, Daibakusho Curry, and Jorge Joestar to come to Budogaoka Academy's Garden. Joji believes that this may have been from Yoshikage Kira's idea, because he had only given his name to the three boys. He goes to the Garden and spots a young Italian man, sitting next to the Mayor and the other detectives. The Mayor claims that the "phone" on the table will start ringing, despite the items on the table being a dirty rubber ball, a pebble, and a shoe. Suddenly, the pebble begins to vibrate, Joji realizes that the pebble is actually a Stand. He answers the phone, the person on the other end speaks something in Japanese. The caller asks him if he can hire Joji, though he refuses unless he gives his name. He reveals that his name is Haruno Shiobana, or Giorno Giovanna. Giorno asks Jorge to search for Diavolo. He says that the man with them is Bruno Bucciarati, and his team will be assisting them. Giorno states that he is in charge of communications, and the other three members of the team will accompany the three detectives. As Giorno hangs up, Bucciarati assigns the members of his team to the detectives. Daibakusho Curry is assigned with Leone Abbacchio. Runbaba 12 is with Guido Mista, and Joji is assigned with a boy named Narancia Ghirga. The detectives decide to take the phone items, and Joji decides to take the pebble.
Joji and Narancia find themselves inside an American spacecraft
Joji looks at Narancia, and sees Tsukumojuku next to him. He grins at him, claiming that someone needs Joji's help, and touches his shoulder. Narancia runs to him and points a knife at Tsukumojuku. In the next moment, they are all teleported. Tsukumojuku bids them farewell and then disappears, leaving Narancia and Joji alone on an American spaceship named the H.G. Wells; which was headed towards Mars.
