—Joji in JORGE JOESTAR Chapter 2: Nishi Akatsuki learning about another Jorge Joestar

Joji Joestar (城字・ジョースターJōji Jōsutā) mainly known as Jorge, is one of the main protagonists in JORGE JOESTAR, being the parallel version of George Joestar II. He is the temporary user of U-Boat after receiving it from Kars [3], and wields the omnipotent ability, Beyond.

As a private detective, Joji sets out on a bizarre quest to solve a murder in Morioh. During the investigation, Joji suddenly reaches outer space, and meets 36 versions of Kars, each created after Made In Heaven reset the world thirty-six times.

Appearance[]

Joji is a boy of average size, and build who has a wings haircut with bangs pointing upward. He wears a collared T-shirt that possesses a star in the center which says "JoJo" in repetition and a pair of shorts with a belt.

After meeting Kars, he is described to be slightly shorter than Joseph Joestar, who was over 190 centimeters. Kars seeps his fingers into Jorge's brain and makes him about twenty centimeters taller, which should make him over six feet. [4]

Since he is adopted into the Joestar family, he does not bear the Joestar birthmark.

Personality[]

Joji is an intelligent and witty person, having solved several private cases all by himself and is able to solve very complex puzzles. Although despite his intelligence, he is considered to be stupid and lacking perseverance by Kars. Kars calls him a fool, finding it hard to believe that he descended from Joseph. [5]

After meeting Kars, Joji is driven to be more courageous. Despite not having his memory disc, Joji explains to Kars about his passion for solving cases, impressing him.

Abilities[]

The information below derives from a source not written by Araki. As such, it may or may not be considered canonW.

Beyond[]

Joji wields a Beyond, which grants him self-awareness in which Joji realizes that he is merely a character in someone else's story. And by believing in his Beyond, his Beyond will give him the means to do whatever it is he needs to do. His Beyond is shared with George Joestar II, and Dio Brando after the death of another detective named Tsukumojuku Kato. It currently stands as one of the most powerful abilities in the JoJo series, despite not being canon. Tsukumojuku explains to Joji that there is another Jorge Joestar in another universe, and teaches both of them how to wield Beyond throughout the novel. [6]

Stand[]

Joji never originally had a Stand, he makes use of Rohan Kishibe's Stand Heaven's Door to see Stands. After this, he obtains the Stand, U-Boat, from Kars which allows him to summon a fleet of miniature submarines that can reform into a larger submarine that Joji can pilot. U-Boat was originally Narancia's Stand.

History[]

Background[]

Joji is Japanese by birth, but his parents, unable to take care of him, give him up. He is then adopted by Jonda Joestar. Joji is raised as if he were English, and is a teenage detective who has solved a lot of cases, including fifteen locked room cases in a row. [7]

2012[]

Jorge still ponders about the locked room murder cases he had solved. He uses a map in an article with all of the locations of each murder site and notices that it is a puzzle. He creates a 4x4 grid on the map, noticing an empty spot on one of the squares. Jorge decides to move each numbered square by one spot, realizing that the killer must have designed the puzzle. Not being able to find a good solution for the puzzle, he goes on to investigate in Morioh.

On his way, he meets a boy under the name of Tsukumojuku Kato. A while later, they both discuss why Tsukumojuku's world is different from Joji's. Joji's world is revealed to be one big continent called Panlandia. Jorge describes Tsukumojuku's world as broken after looking at a quick sketch he created. Tsukumojuku explains that there is another Jorge Joestar whom he was great friends with. They both discover that Tsukumojuku had time traveled to Takefu from 1904 to 2012. They both greet each other farewell for the day, Jorge hands him his business card and hopes to see him again tomorrow, only to have heard news the next morning that he was dead, with his body found in Morioh. [8]

Jorge ends up going to the Arrow Cross House, the site of another Locked Room Murder where he meets Rohan Kishibe and Reimi Sugimoto. While discussing the murder, when they find someone knocking at the door. Opening the door, they are confronted by the Nijimura brothers and Koji Hirose. Joji learns that the Arrow House is an actual Stand, and that Reimi may be the embodiment of that Stand. It isn't long after however that an earthquake strikes, and the town of Morioh splits off from the mainland and begins to float through the sea. Morioh develops a dome that covers the town. Suddenly, Funny Valentine appears on the top of the dome to deliver a message stating that the American Army will flip the island if nothing changes. Joji would later find a door in The Arrow House that leads to another house where physics don't seem to really apply. They are then informed that another Island from Italy, Nero Nero Island, is on a collision course with Morioh. Nero Nero Island has an intense presence of Passione. As the Island grows closer, it suddenly sprouts legs and rises out of the water. It begins to walk across the surface of the apparent island of Morioh. As Joji follows it, he finds a stone acting as a telephone and answers it to find himself talking to Giorno Giovanna, who hires the detective and his friends to help him find Diavolo, and teams them each up with members of the Gangstars. [9]

Mission to Mars' Third Moon[]

Eyed Balloon

The Eyed Balloon

Jorge ends up partnered up with Narancia. It isn't long thereafter that Joji and Narancia are teleported to a space capsule over Mars when his deceased friend Tsukumojuku tries to touch Jorge's shoulder.[10] Inside the capsule are astronauts Funnier Valentine, Enrico Pucci, Pocoloco Tripleseven and Goyathlay Soundman. They travel to Mars' secret moon which begins to develop tentacles. This moon is being held in orbit by a man running across Mars with a rope attached to the moon, the man is later revealed to be a man named Kars. Narancia attempts to use his Stand, U-Boat, to attack them, but is stopped by Soundman. Pucci then uses Whitesnake to take their memory DISCS and read them, but is unsure of the meaning behind what Tsukumojuku is doing. The moon then manifests a massive eye, and is revealed to them through the PA System by President The Funniest Valentine that the United Nations has called this phenomenon "The Eyed Balloon" and he further elaborates on Kars, his fate, and the ultimatum: if they cannot escape from The Eyed Balloon in ten minutes, they will detonate the shuttle to ensure that Kars can't return to earth. The crew lands on Mars where they confront Kars, but Funnier Valentine betrays his crew and kills Pocoloco and nearly kills Soundman. [11]

Soundman survives and attempts to use all the sand on Mars to take his revenge, but is killed by Valentine. However, before Valentine can escape, his ship is destroyed by Narancia's U-Boat. They find out that Kars had snuck onto the vessel with them, and upon realizing that there is only four hours of oxygen left, proceeds to reform The Eyed Balloon into a star ship. It is then revealed that The Eyed Balloon is really 36 Alternate versions of Kars from different universes. He then brings U-Boat into his newly created ship. Kars, Joji, Narancia and Pucci all escape Mars when suddenly the rock phone rings and they are informed by Bruno Bucciarati to stop fooling around. As they make their way home, Kars hijacks U-Boat to see inside of Narancia's mind where he finds images of Trish Una who was an apparent a porn star on that universe, as opposed to a gangster. [12] Kars then uses the information of U-Boat to create his own version and even forms his own version of Whitesnake, each of which he calls "Ultimate". As they return to earth, the Kars' Starship burns up upon re-entry and the two versions of U-Boat destroy the airplanes that are attempting to flip Morioh. They crash into Morioh and flip it anyway, revealing the United Kingdom underneath. There, they encounter nothing but Zombies attempting to eat people. [13]

United Kingdom[]

Here, Jorge encounters Penelope de la Rosa who is attempting to kill all the Antonio skin Zombies with her ability. They eventually encounter Valentine, as well as Dio Brando who possesses marks resembling those of Jesus as, well as a Stand known as The Passion which manifests as a crown of thorns upon his head. This encounter affects Pucci who not only develops C-Moon, but also Made in Heaven from the encounter. Pucci ends up outside of the dome surrounding the United Kingdom where he proceeds to speed up time and reset the universe approximately thirty-six times. It is then revealed that Diavolo and Kira were found dead in the Arrow House and that Pucci was responsible. As Reimi drops the Stand Arrow, Giorno picks it up and transforms Gold Experience into Gold Experience Requiem. He then traps Pucci as well as Made in Heaven in a timeless void. However, Bruno believes something is wrong with Giorno, and it is revealed that Giorno was a skin zombie of Antonio, who then transforms into Diavolo. Using King Crimson to attack Joji and take him to Dio's coffin. Diavolo opens the coffin, Dio betrays Diavolo and drinks his blood before crushing his skull. After a battle with Giorno, Dio turns Giorno into another Dio and puts him in the coffin in place of the original Dio.

Battle Between Dio and Kars[]

Dio takes blood from a version of Kars, becoming an Ultimate Life Form himself. Ultimate Kars and Ultimate Dio face off against each other while Funny Valentine takes Joji to another dimension where he is met by two other Funny Valentines who explain to Joji that he is a singularity, and that no other Joji Joestar exists in any other dimension, much like the Saint's Corpse. Funny Valentine is then killed by Kars. The Funniest Valentine appears and jumps out of a helicopter as Dio and Kars fight. Kars manages to manifest Soundman's Stand, Dune and traps Dio in a sand pillar. However, Dio breaks out of it. Joji is then sucked into one of Valentine's secret dimensions, and then is sent back to Morioh where Kars is. Kars claims that they need to find the real Yoshikage Kira as the one killed in the Arrow House was actually Kosaku Kawajiri. There, they use Kira's ability to use Bites the Dust to go back in time to the Steel Ball Run's universe where Dio is beheaded, and they reattach the head of Jonathan Joestar which Erina had kept safe. Jonathan is then revived and Dio takes the body of Diego Brando who had lost his head to Lucy Steel and flees. Kars then returns everyone to their home dimensions, Penelope goes back with Joji to his home dimension where she marries his father and has a baby girl named Joeko. [14]

Major Battles[]

Trivia[]

  • His adoptive and real name was originally Joji Joestar. He later officially changes it to Jorge Joestar, because he had disliked the spelling for 'Joji'.
  • Funny Valentine had stated that Joji was a "singularity", like the Saint's Corpse. Meaning there is no other parallel version of him that exists in any other universe or dimension. [15]
