Joseph Joestar of New York (story arc)

New York's Joseph Joestar (ニューヨークのジョセフ・ジョースター, Nyū Yōku no Josefu Jōsutā) is the first story arc in Battle Tendency.

Summary

Battle Tendency begins in 1938, Speedwagon, having become a wealthy businessman, welcomes the monk Straizo and his disciples, whom he takes to an ancient temple in Mexico, where Speedwagon shows them a man fused into the stone of a pillar and surrounded by Stone Masks. Straizo suddenly kills his disciples and incapacitates Speedwagon.

Meanwhile Joseph Joestar, grandson of Jonathan Joestar, visits New York for the first time and befriends Somkey Brown. Eating at a restaurant with Smokey and his grandmother Erina, Joseph is soon informed of Speedwagon's presumed death at the hand of Straizo.
