Meryl Mei Qi (マリル・メイ・チー, Meriru mei chī) is a character featured in The JOJOLands. Outwardly, she is the boss of Dragona's workplace, and is the principal of McKinley High School, which Jodio attends. However, these are merely fronts to her true role of being the leader of a gang, which Jodio, Dragona, Paco, and Usagi are a part of.

Appearance

Meryl is a large woman with a thick build, being significantly taller than the other members of the gang. She wears a stylish dress, similar to a Muumuu^W, which is patterned with leaf print and splits at her hip, decorated with fringes along her waist.

She wears her long, dark hair pulled into a ponytail, piled onto the top of her head. She also wears lightly colored simple stud earrings.

Personality

Meryl is a highly respected and lovable public figure. Her students always happily greet her in the mornings, and she returns the kind favor herself. She is very talented and knowledgeable in design, being the owner of Iko Iko and designer of all the goods they sale. Even Jodio notes her fashion know-how, stating that with her abilities, she could be well known even in the likes of Paris and Milan if she wanted to.

She is known to be extremely cautious and careful in her dealings with the criminal underworld, keeping all of her personal information private, and using her boutique as a front for money laundering, to keep her ill-gotten money from being traced. Meryl also appears to be a rather social butterfly in the underworld, having informants in Hawaiian customs and even having a good connection to the black market, making it possible to sell a large diamond without much apparent risk.

History

Background

Meryl is stated to have a husband and child, though nothing more on her personal life is known. At some point in her life, she became a figure in the criminal underworld of Hawaii, seeming to run a rather successful criminal organization that deals in things ranging from heists, drug deals, and more. Four years ago, Meryl was driving and spotted Jodio and Dragona walking down a seady neighborhood to meet their mother. Meryl offered the two a ride in her car as per the school rules, bluntly telling the two their mother could not afford to pay their tuition, ultimately she offered the siblings a deal in that they join her criminal organization and the two accepted.

As for her other jobs, she is the principal of Honolulu^W's McKinley High School, as well as owning a Fashion Boutique in the Kalihi^W neighborhood, in which she has created the merchandise and posters within the store, herself.

The JOJOLands

At the Iko Iko Boutique, Meryl calls on Jodio, Dragona, Paco, and another student to steal a wealthy Japanese tourist's natural 24-carat blue diamond.
