I tried to get rank S in chapter 22 (Jonathan vs Dio & Lizard Men) but nothing happened do I have to use only Jonathan or any character is good?do I have to get all S or only rank S?do I have to do it in Story Mode or Chapter Mode?
You sure you didn't unlock anything ? try to search for another chapter in Chapter Mode along the lines of "CHAPTER23 最後の波紋！（裏）" (note the "（裏） at the end, it is to differentiate from the normal chapter 23 ) or a new cutscene previously locked in Theatre. As far as I can remember, it doesn't matter the character and mode you do it.
Did you get an overall Rank S or everything S ? I thought only rank S was good enough, weird. Posing more than 20 times helps, as well as killing at least 10 zombies and win the fight with 70% of health. Ripple attacks are good to quickly dispose of multiple enemies (as Time is one of the factors for setting ranking).
If you still don't get anything, talk to me again.
I get an S, then continued the story... nothing happened
I tried to use the misterious last option (???) and I got Rank S + all S... nothing happend again
are you sure that the secret chapter 23 is unlocked getting S on chapter 2? or there is any other conditions? as far as I can remember, ranks mean nothing in this game and the score is only a number, not a real thing
After so many time without playing it (and now you not obtaining it) i'm not so sure anymore...
Ok, I tried to look at some japanese websites (the game is in japanese, so people who can speak the same language must know more than me) and every one of them says the same thing: "Rank S in Chapter 22", but don't go into detail about if its only the rank or everything S.
About the modes, some sites say it can only be achieved in story mode with Jonathan, while others say it can also be unlocked in chapter mode with anyone (one even recommends Tonpetty, as his hamon increases faster than the others). I guess you already tried on Chapter Mode, so the only thing left is doing chapter 22 with Rank S in Story Mode.
This is starting to become weird to me. I will try to play the game on a emulator and do it myself to see if i'm missing something. Sorry if I still couldn't help you.
Hey Pedro, i was actually in the process of changing the Chapter page names to an numerical order before. Theres alot, and I've been on vacation, so I didn't get a chance to do them all. The main purpose of this is to improve the wiki's function and accuracy. Not only can users easily search a chapter without having to know the name of it, but obviously the names used currently are from fan scanlations. Same goes for the volume titles. The content in the pages and the chapter list can stay the same for now.
Oh, I see. I thought it was the reverse :you were actually changing all numbered chapters to names.
Well, even though I agree that it would be easier to change everything to a numerical order, wouldn't it be better do create redirects instead of changing the titles ? Not only the chapters are already referenced by their names on almost every page ("first appearance" of characters, etc...), I don't think there's a problem to reference them through fantraslations, as the almost japan-only nature of the series makes fantranslations necessary (not only for chapters but everything else:characters,attacks,etc...).
I see redirects as a better option (I could even do them after finishing the part 3 summaries and the Volumes)
What do you think ?
I created a page for Volume 1, but didn't know if there was a Volume template so I used he Chapter one. is it alright like this ?
Well for one, It requires a bit more work to create another chapter page and then redirect it to the original page, rather than just renaming the page which automatically redirects. We arn't going to remove the names from any of the articles or appearances or the chapter list; the only thing being changed is the page titles. You're right about Fan Translations for most cases, but this doesn't necessarily apply as no one really references the chapters by their title names anyways so the names arn't necessary in this case.
I also just checked some other wikis, and they do a similar format, so I figured why not.
I was looking at the Phantom Blood page in wikipedia and came across something interesting: some chapters are listed with two names. According to the page, "When two chapter titles are present, the first in the set is the subsequent renamed title as found in the all-color editions, while the second is the title in the original volumization.
These names are actually a way to separate the earlier storylines in story arcs like the following parts (as a example, "Jack the Ripper and Zeppeli the Eccentric" became a story arc ranging from chapter 18 to 22). This also happens with Battle Tendency and the earlier chapters of Stardust Crusaders.
So, do you think story arc pages for these should be created too ? as well as redirects of these new names to their corresponding chapters...
