The island is described to be the second largest city in Italy, being a tenth the size of Morioh. Its population is about 3,000 people, and has buildings made of brick with windmills. At the harbor, there are ships with Italian names, with the island's underside being about 200 meters wide.[1]

Nero Nero Island has had a long history of being a Mafia base, and it is currently the headquarters of Passione. In 2012, the island suddenly grows legs and approaches Morioh, attempting to destroy right through it.

History[]

2012[]

The island is first mentioned at the end of the sixth chapter, as it approaches from South of Sardinia.[2]

It slowly approaches Morioh attempting to destroy it, with insect-like legs grown from underneath. Muryotaisu and Joji examine it from a distance using binoculars, Muryotaisu gets an encyclopedia and reads about the island. It is the current headquarters of the Passione gang, which has over three hundred members.

As Nero Nero Island suddenly grows two legs, it begins to swim towards Morioh on its own. It crashes into Morioh, though the collision of two barriers push the Nero Nero Island up. As more legs grow from under it, it breaks through Morioh's barrier and lands on its harbor. It destroys a few houses from Morioh, and because of this, the gang members on the island then decide to shoot at random civilians from above the island.[1]
