Prisoner FE40536: Jolyne Cujoh is the second episode of Stone Ocean and the one-hundred-fifty-fourth episode of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime. The episode covers from Chapter 598 to Chapter 603 of the original manga.

Summary[]

In prison, after being greeted by Loccobarocco, Jolyne ends up sharing a cell with Gwess. While trying to claim the bottom bunk, Gwess attacks Jolyne, claiming the bottom bunk for herself. Jolyne then notices some of Gwess' belonging, among which is the pendant her father had sent to her. She asks Gwess if she can see it, but Gwess refuses, stating she had already bought it off of another prisoner for two dollars. Jolyne offers to buy it back, but Gwess gouges her, pricing the pendant at 100 times the price Gwess herself paid for it. Jolyne grows angry, but is distracted by a bird in Gwess' pocket that displays two, tiny, human arms.

Jolyne then finds herself unable to sleep while laying in her bunk, lamenting the things that brought her to this point. It is then that Gwess apologizes to Jolyne for what had happened earlier, and allows her to hold onto the pendant.

Jolyne then wakes up to find her pants are soaked and goes to the cafeteria for some breakfast. However, she realizes that she slept in late and missed breakfast. She notices Gwess who seemingly had two breakfasts, dumping trash into the garbage can. When Jolyne investigates, she notices the picture from within her pendant resting in the trash.

Elsewhere, Gwess is playing with her pet bird, asking it to tell her "I love you" and commanding it to fly to her finger. When it tell her it loves her, she offers it a treat, but when it jumps to her finger, she scolds it. Suddenly, Jolyne switches the bird out for a banana in an effort to investigate the strange creature, and is startled when two human arms fall out of the creature.

As Gwess grows closer, Jolyne hides and begins to deduce that Gwess must have gotten a strange ability from the pendant as well. Before she can go any further, she notices that the bird is now about as tall as she is, and finds that her size has been reduced by Gwess' use of her Stand. Gwess then outfits Jolyne in a rat's hide, scolding Jolyne for speaking when she inquires about the person in the bird.

Gwess names Jolyne "Chorokichi" and begins to "Train" her to help Gwess escape and orders her to infiltrate the control room to scout out an escape rout. Jolyne does just that, and is pleasantly surprised to find that her body grows the further away from Gwess that Jolyne gets. Jolyne begins to run as fast as she can to escape, leaving the rat's hide behind. Goo Goo Dolls manifests itself and begins to chase her for leaving the rat's corpse.

Jolyne manifests her own Stand and begins to crush Goo Goo Dolls, demanding that Gwess be summoned to her. When Gwess appears, Jolyne begins to question her, demanding her pendant back as well as demanding to know who it was that she bought the pendant from. As Gwess goes to return the pendant and mentions that she had bought it off of Ermes, but before she gives the pendant to Jolyne, Gwess drops it and pushes her out of the gate and summons a guard to shoot her. Due to Gwess canceling out the ability, Jolyne is returned to normal size and thus can't fit through the bars again. Gwess, sure that she had won, taunts Jolyne by telling her that when the guard gets his shotgun, she will be killed. Jolyne isn't faxed by this however, and merely summons her Stand, Stone Free, to attack Gwess mercilessly, commanding her to let her back through the bars. Eventually, the guards show up and find nothing there and assume it to be a false alarm.

Later that night, Jolyne finds herself in bed, thinking about her father while looking at the photo of her parents.

Trivia[]

  • Despite the Official English Localization Subtitles referring to Goo Goo Dolls as "G.G. Dolls", Gwess in the English Dub names her Stand, "Cry Cry Dolls".
    • This was later redubbed so the Stand's name in the Dub would be more accurate to the subtitles.
    • Along with Goo Goo Dolls' localized name, another line of Gwess referring to Jolyne as a "filthy monkey" was also redubbed to her calling Jolyne a "filthy bitch".
