The Mist of Emptiness, Vanilla Ice (story arc)

The Mist of Emptiness, Vanilla Ice (亜空の瘴気 ヴァニラ・アイス, Akū no Shōki Vanira Aisu) is the twenty-sixth story arc in Stardust Crusaders.

It narrates Polnareff, Avdol and Iggy's clash against the powerful Vanilla Ice.

Summary

Vanilla Ice, DIO's most trusted servant, informs his master that Telence was defeated. When Vanilla Ice willingly cuts his head off to satiate DIO's need for blood, DIO resurrects him and sends him against the Joestar group. Vanilla Ice then has his Stand Cream swallow him and disintegrates a wall when Cream goes to kill the Joestar group. When Avdol, Iggy, and Polnareff enter the mansion instead of burning it down, Vanilla Ice ambushes them and kills Advol, swallowing him into a dimension of darkness. Cream, being invisible and able to disintegrate everything in its path, seems invincible. Polnareff and Iggy then flee to the 2nd level, where the fight continues. When Iggy tries to lure Vanilla Ice with a copy of DIO, Vanilla Ice is enraged and fatally kicks the dog. Polnareff then stabs Vanilla in the mouth but Vanilla survives, crippling Polnareff heavily. Cream then circles around Polnareff who cannot even crawl due to his injuries. Iggy sacrifices himself to save Polnareff by spending the last of his strength into lifting him with The Fool and dies. Polnareff, deducing that Vanilla Ice has become a Vampire, pushes him into the sunlight, and defeats him.
