I wasn't trying to say I dislike Jotaro's personality because it's unidentifiable and I realize that his traits exist in tons of other characters. It's a popular archetype for characters in fiction and it's one that I think has been overplayed and isn't interesting to begin with. He's pretty boring on the surface and there isn't anything deeper in his character (although he is far more interesting in later parts as he matures)..... Just to clarify: I don't hate Jotaro at all, I just don't find him the least bit interesting (within Part 3 at least).
Sorry if I didn't present my points clear enough before, but what I was saying in the previous post is that, Jotaro's personality is not only an existing personality trope in media, it is also an existing personality trait in real life. I was just trying to argue that he shouldn't be that hard to relate to on a personal level.
Joraro's is not without faults, his problem is the lack of general empathy, and is very self centered/motivated to a fault. Although his intentions may not be bad or harming, however he wants everything going completely in his way whether you like it or not. It is only during the event of Part 3 when he starts to expand his values during the journey (Jotaro at the start of SC and the him near the end of it are already 2 very different man), and matures during the time gap between Part 3 and 4.
Sure Jotaro is badass all the time during Part 3 can be a little dull, but for me I personality like him just as much as Josuke. They are quite opposite in terms of how they do things, one is violent and aggressive in nature with occasional calmness to deal with sticky situations. And the other is harmonious for the most part until he snaps, which then he takes 0 responsibility for any cruel actions or overkill he may do during his rampage.
Jotaro is imo not a worse written character as they 2 are evenly interesting for me in different aspects, it's just that the former as a character knows how to hide his bad side better than the latter (and even better afterwards).
But more power to you bud, it's cool that you may not like Jotaro as much as I do. As Araki once said "Jataro is someone you admire as a hero, Josuke is someone you see as a buddy" or something along those lines, I can see why people can/can't like these 2 characters. I just personally like both and don't pick a particular one over the other.
