"Oh, Amy, Amy, Amy. What a stupid way to answer. Of course I'll be happy to accept all of your hatred in open arms. There isn't always the time to contemplate about our personal trivialities, don't you agree…?"
Duncan Young/The Night Walker; Age: 33, Height: 5'8", Weight: 150 lbs, Blood: A+, Instinct: Freezing Point, Overdrive: Second Moon

Due to his sociopathic nature, it is very hard to determine what he likes or what food he eats. However, he often makes it clear that he dislikes the scent of wild fruit and any kinds of meat, cooked or not.
(Former) Occupation(s): Pacific Bay Police Department Officer, Serial Killer, Wanted Criminal
Appearance: Having been able to make himself walk again, Duncan is now shown to be of average-sized height and a stronger build. Despite his year-long imprisonment, he is surprisingly clean-shaven and his hair and appearance is as the same as it was back during the events of his capture. However, he hides a disgusting scar underneath his clothes that reads, Kisaragi (如月), in which he covers it with ice, bandages, and patches.
Not bothering to hide his cover and always too warm, Duncan wears his bean jacket now colored a jolting sapphire over his black turtleneck sweater underneath his brown jacket and white dress shirt. He also wears black trousers and matching ski boots with laces and parts of it being silver (including the extendable spikes beneath it) and carries a backpack carrying his equipment including a spear gun, ice axes, survival knives, a single barrel shotgun holding nitrogen rounds, ice picks dangerously sharpened to pierce through skin, flesh, and bone, and chains with the lethality of barbed wire.
His weapon, Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa (氷剣・ユキアネサ Hyōken: Yukianesa, lit. Ice Sword: Yukianesa), appears as a Japanese sword with a blue sheath covering an icy blade connected to a silver pommel and green handle with two ports connecting the both of them that emit a frozen mist when it is unsheathed. Similar to various Divine Artillery Balancers yet different from them, Yukianesa happens to be a Nox Nyctores that happened to came from another universe despite having the mystical aura of impossibility. To handle the blade, Duncan wears white insulated gloves connected to his thermal clothing. When being controlled by Yukianesa, his eyes glow icy blue and when going under a murderous rage, his eyes would reveal retinal veins and his pupils would often dilate under extreme emotion. However, when both of his personalities mix together, Duncan while retain both of these features, but now emits a menacing midnight blue aura that give others the illusion that he is a tall, slender monster with ice spikes through its body and with a face of a demon.
Personality: Having lost his honor as a former hero he was once sawn as and now feared as the legend who is responsible for murdering four purple, Duncan is cold, aloof, and borderline sociopathic, where his sister Amy holds a sense of honor but has the occasion to go with violence before words. He cares little for the feelings of others (even acting hostile the moment he has his sights on them), and denounces, in his own words, trivialities like camaraderie and veneration, cynically believing that such things are lies that people use to their advantage. He has no compunction with killing anyone who gets in the way of his goal, and doesn’t even bother covering his own tracks despite having the risk of being caught. In addition, he repeatedly shows that he dislikes reminiscing about the past, particularly about his days back when he was in the police force.
This, however, is all a façade. The moment he reunites with Amy and has his eyes on Rook (or in some occasions, Frank), Duncan loses his calm, detached demeanor and reverts back to his much darker, psychotic side back when he was the Night Walker. His voice and speech patterns becomes noticeably more ecstatic and boyish-like, and he is now prone to fits of maniacal laughter and psychotic hostility when anyone stands in his way, mostly due to Yukianesa’s influence, which corrupts Duncan’s mind and compels him into killing anyone close to him and those it perceives as threats to the world. He also doesn’t bother staying silent to his sister and would monologue diatribes and rants about his hatred about everything and the flaws of the topics her sister she would talk about. His reasoning would often fall into deaf’s ears due to his murderous impulses and everyone’s assumption that he is nothing more than a sociopathic serial killer.
Although it may seem genuine at first, it turns out that his mind and body is entirely possessed and controlled by Yukianesa, which happens to inherit the memories and personality of its former wielder while combining the current’s wielder’s personality, as his mind was in fact broken and shattered beyond repair due to the attempt of his life from his mother, who wanted to murder him through said weapon along with the torture he sustained from the prison’s employment due to him “not knowing [his] place”, which completely disgusts Yukianesa. When controlling Duncan, Yukianesa prefers to be called "Jin Kisaragi (ジン・キサラギ)" (occasionally Kisaragi), the name of its former wielder, and adopts a much darker and colder tone similar to him. However, due to the unfamiliar setting it was in, “Kisaragi” speaks Japanese and has a formal yet hostile speech pattern when conversing with others, referring himself as "boku" while referring to others as "kisama," adopted from its origin and wielder. "Kisaragi", when fully controlling Duncan, has a much calmer and colder attitude and doesn’t hide his hostility and killing intent to others, often chastising and looking down on them for their supposed incompetence and selfishness and holding very misanthropic views of the world. This hostility even applies to Amy (and also Rook) despite happening to be his "sister," and he would both scorn and mock her as such as he claims she doesn’t even compare to the "Dark One," yet happens to be a constant thorn on his side to the point that he would call her an "obstacle (障害 shōgai)." However, he happens to reason with and does often show a bit a respect to Amy by calling her by her name along with adding a honorific, although it can be quite mocking and dubious at the same time due to Yukianesa adopting both of Jin’s and Duncan’s personalities.
While keeping a straight face very much often, Kisaragi nearly loses his composure when he faces enemies that happen to be similar to Yukianesa and curses his opponents when he happens to lose to the likes of them, and despite his anti-social behavior, would cooperate with some of his acquaintances in sake for his goals and exchange a few remarks to enemies who deserve the respect he scoffs at, most notably those who are highly skilled and on the same level as him. Furthermore, Kisaragi is very paranoid of losing his control over Duncan and wishes to completely erase him from existence so he can be the only "person" taking control. However, at times when Yukianesa is at its full power, the Kisaragi personality will completely fall off and Duncan will take over, revealing his true colors as a bloodthirsty, overly aggressive, rage-filled psycho who is beyond reason and further expresses his hostility and hatred to everyone on his sight, surprisingly including his sister, and is more prone to perform violent actions such as brutalizing his enemies before killing them, constantly freezing them to death, and murdering them in violent ways with his blade or not. These violent outbursts are enough to disturb the most stoic and calmest of characters that even a blink of the eye or a single frozen sweat drop is enough to indicate fear (with special exceptions). Kisaragi, the personality once fearing his nonexistence, slowly adapts with Duncan as if they were combined into one and acts as the colder side of Yukianesa while Duncan is the murderous side he always shows. Although their personalities contrast with each other, both sides nonetheless collaborate efficiently when a push comes to shove to a punch to the chest, making both sides of Duncan very indistinguishable from each other.
Powers and Abilities: Wielding Yukianesa, Duncan controls the element of ice, wielding it with such efficiency that he is able to shape the ice he creates into different forms such as a series of blades to propel himself on one, jagged sharp spikes that can impale and freeze people to death, rings from the tip of his blade to connect them in circular motions, trails left behind by Yukianesa for further defense, and ice sculptures to trick his enemies and throw them as weapons. The ice left by Yukianesa is very dangerous to the point it can erode life faster than it can melt. However, like regular ice, it can be destroyed and the blade can be broken to suppress its abilities, although Duncan can fix it for a few moments afterwards while nearly leaving himself open to attack.
His swordsmanship as well as his powers rival and contrasts that of his sister Amy. While Amy fights with elegant yet powerful and unorthodox strikes, Duncan’s style is very savage and as hard-hitting as Amy’s with a focus on more precise attacks, which compares and polarizes his own personality affected by Yukianesa. This is also partly due to the loss of touch on his training after Duncan was discharged from the police while Amy’s style is much more focused on the secret missions she was given by them. However, Duncan is not above using underhanded tactics and performing cold-blooded methods by using his equipment utilized for winter activities and travels consisting of the icy coldness and snowy winds, all which are completely modified to contain Yukianesa’s power and with the lethality to expose flesh and cause freezing at the same time to kill his enemies. When Kisaragi takes control however, his fighting style becomes much more elegant and focused and often relies on Yukianesa iaijutsu-style similar to his former wielder.
Duncan’s true power is currently suppressed because of Yukianesa’s influence on him, which normally prevents him from drawing the blade by his own will while being completely controlled by it through "Kisaragi." There are hints of this true power showing up periodically, but not in its full potential. This is even further shown when Duncan’s ice crystals sport a few jagged formations upon freezing his targets, while when Kisaragi takes over, the crystals are more smooth and refined on their surfaces. However, according to Amy, should Duncan’s true power managed to overcome Yukianesa, then Duncan will become her "greatest enemy."
