Youth with Dio, Part 3 (ディオとの青春 その③ Dio to no Seishun Sono 3), originally Attack of the Living Dead (
Summary[]
The injured Speedwagon tries to warn Jonathan to flee, and tells him that it would be suicide to fight Dio. Speedwagon is on the ground with broken ribs and an arm, and is angry that instead of being able to help JoJo, he can only sit there and be a burden to him. Undeterred by his friend's pleas, Jonathan theorizes that since the Stone Mask unlocks the secret potential of the human brain; the only way to kill Dio at this point is to destroy his brain completely.
Suddenly, the corpse of the policeman that Dio previously sucked the life out of reanimates into a zombie and crawls toward Speedwagon, intending to suck his blood. Before the undead policeman can begin to drain Speedwagon, Jonathan strikes its head with his spear, decapitating and killing him. Dio then attacks Jonathan from above. Jonathan quickly stabs his spear upward; though the tip punctures Dio's hand, he simply grabs it and effortlessly stops Jonathan's attack. Dio bends and breaks the spear in two using only his hand, and the end of the resting on his left sholder pierces Jonathan's collarbone.
Dio turns his back for a moment to gloat about his new power and assured victory, but when he turns back around Jonathan and Speedwagon have both disappeared. After a quick assessment of the foyer, Dio notices blood streaming from under a curtain. Knowing this is where the two men have hidden, Dio grabs the curtain to pull it back and reveal them. However, the curtain is then lit on fire and draped over him, causing Dio to fall back and yell in pain or surprise. Jonathan and Speedwagon, holding an oil lamp, watch as the vampire burns, and hope that it will be enough to end him.
